メタデータ株式会社は本日、創立20周年を迎えました。
支えてくださったお客様、パートナーの皆さま、そして関係者の皆さまに、心より御礼申し上げます。

当社は2005年の創業以来、「情報を単なるデータとしてではなく、人が意味を見いだし、判断や行動に活かせる“知識”として扱うにはどうすればよいのか」という問題意識を原点として歩んできました。社名である「メタデータ」には、データそのもの以上に、それを取り巻く文脈・構造・意味づけこそが人間の理解を支える、という思想が込められています。情報が増え続ける時代において、必要なのは量ではなく、意味を峻別し、活用可能な形に整える知的技術である——この考えは、創業当時から一貫して変わっていません。

その後、検索技術、テキスト分析、ナレッジマネジメントを軸に事業を展開する中で、当社は自然言語処理、機械学習、そして生成AIへと技術の重心を移しながら進化を続けてきました。近年では、高精度RAG（Retrieval-Augmented Generation）を中核とするAIナレッジ基盤「ChatBrid」をはじめ、社内外の知識資産を安全かつ的確に活用するための製品・サービスを提供しています。単に生成するAIではなく、「根拠ある知識に基づき、信頼できる応答を返すAI」を実現することが、実運用において不可欠であると考えてきました。

生成AIが急速に普及する現在、私たちは改めて問い直しています。AIは人間に取って代わる存在なのか、それとも人間の知的営みを支え、拡張する存在なのか。メタデータ株式会社は後者であると考えています。最終的な判断、責任、創造性は常に人間にあり、AIはそのための思考の補助線であるべきです。だからこそ、知識の構造化、出典の明確化、文脈理解といった“人間中心”の設計思想を、これからも大切にしていきます。

20年間で培ってきた思想と技術を礎に、私たちは未踏の地平、未来へと歩みを進めます。AIと人間が協調し、知識が正しく活かされる社会の実現に向けて、これからも挑戦を続けてまいります。

— Supporting Human Intellectual Activity with AI, Toward the Next 20 Years —

Metadata Inc. proudly marks its 20th anniversary today.
We would like to express our sincere gratitude to our customers, partners, and all those who have supported us throughout these two decades.

Since our founding in 2005, we have been driven by a fundamental question: how can information be transformed into knowledge that truly supports human understanding, decision-making, and action? The name “Metadata” reflects our belief that data alone has limited value unless accompanied by context, structure, and meaning. Even in an age of information overload, what matters most is not quantity, but the ability to distinguish, organize, and apply knowledge effectively.

Over the years, our technologies have evolved—from search and text analytics to semantic natural language processing, generative AI, and most recently Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG). Through solutions such as ChatBrid, we have focused on building AI systems that do not merely generate answers, but provide reliable responses grounded in verified knowledge. We believe this approach is essential for the practical and responsible use of AI in real-world organizations.

As generative AI rapidly advances, an important question arises: should AI replace human intelligence, or should it support and enhance it? At Metadata Inc., our position has always been clear. AI should serve as a partner that supports human intellectual activity, not a substitute for human judgment. Responsibility, creativity, and final decision-making must remain in human hands. AI exists to assist thinking—to provide structure, insight, and confidence.
